Tour overview

The ride at a glance

A relaxed eight-day ride from Agadir to Casablanca along Morocco's Atlantic shore — empty coastal sweepers, the harbours of Essaouira and El Jadida, the Oualidia oyster lagoon — then a taste of the Atlas foothills before Casablanca. A scenic ocean-to-city route, and it runs in either direction.

This tour is built for riders who love the sea more than the sand. Over eight days you trace Morocco's Atlantic littoral from Agadir north to Casablanca, trading the desert for the smell of salt, the cry of gulls and long, flowing roads that run out to the horizon. You ride the white-and-blue medina of Essaouira, the surf village of Imssouane, the fortified port of Safi and the oyster beds of Oualidia, then loop inland through the green foothills of the Atlas before the final run into Casablanca. The final daily stages, pace and pillion arrangements are confirmed with you before booking.

  • Essaouira's UNESCO medina and fishing harbour
  • Empty Atlantic sweepers past Tamri and the Imssouane surf break
  • Oualidia's oyster lagoon and cliffs
  • El Jadida's Portuguese citadel and cistern
  • A loop into the green Atlas foothills
  • Finish beneath the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca

Day by day

Itinerary

A typical daily plan. We adjust it for weather, your pace and any must-see requests.

  1. 1

    Arrive Agadir

Arrive in Agadir and settle into the accommodation confirmed for your itinerary. If an airport transfer is included, it is arranged in advance. If motorcycle rental is part of your booking, the handover takes place before riding; your guide then explains the route, terrain and important practical information. A short Corniche shakedown ride can be considered if timing allows.

    Arrival —
  2. 2

    Agadir → Essaouira

Head north on quiet coastal roads past Tamri and the surf break at Imssouane, then on to Essaouira. Time to walk the UNESCO medina, the skala sea bastion and the working harbour before sunset.

  3. 3

Essaouira — Rest Day & Optional Ride

A free day off the schedule in Essaouira. Wander the UNESCO medina and its ramparts, watch the blue sardine boats unload at the working harbour, or simply sit out on the beach. For anyone who would rather be riding, there is an optional short loop south to Diabat and the laid-back surf village of Sidi Kaouki, easily done in a morning. Bikes get a check-over either way, and the afternoon is yours.

  4. 4

    Essaouira → Safi → Oualidia

Ride north along cliffs and fishing villages to Safi, known for its pottery and fortified port, then continue to the calm lagoon of Oualidia, famous for oysters. Taste them at a lagoon-side table.

  5. 5

Oualidia → Azemmour → El Jadida

Follow the coast to the white-and-blue town of Azemmour and on to El Jadida, a Portuguese fortified city. Visit the underground cistern made famous on film and wander the ramparts above the sea.

  6. 6

El Jadida → Atlas Foothills Loop → El Jadida

Leave the coast and climb into the green foothills of the Atlas, through vineyards and the riverside kasbah of Boulaouane, then loop back down to the shore as the light softens for a second night in El Jadida.

  7. 7

El Jadida → Mohammedia → Casablanca

A relaxed run north along the coast and through Mohammedia to Casablanca. Depending on timing we visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, before a farewell dinner.

  8. 8

    Casablanca — Departure

A relaxed final morning with no scheduled riding. After breakfast, complete any motorcycle return included in your rental arrangement and the final luggage check. If an airport transfer is included in your confirmed itinerary, it is scheduled around your flight; extra nights or onward travel can also be arranged on request.

Best time to travel

A general guide by season — we confirm the ideal window when you book.

The Atlantic coast has its own rhythm: soft light and green headlands in spring, long settled autumns, cool wet winters and breezy summers when the trade winds pick up. The notes below are a general guide — we confirm the best window and plan rides around the wind when you book.

Season: Spring (Mar–May)

Mild, breezy and green; the most comfortable coastal riding and wildflowers on the headlands. A popular window; availability varies by date.

Season: Autumn (Sep–Nov)

Warm, stable and generally less windy than summer; ideal for long, relaxed days along the shore.

Season: Winter (Dec–Feb)

Cool and sometimes wet on the coast, with clear, quiet riding days between fronts. Pack a waterproof shell and warm layers.

Season: Summer (Jun–Aug)

Warm and breezy; the coastal wind can be strong, so we time rides for calmer mornings and evenings and keep the pace easy.

Tour questions

Specific questions about this route.

Can we start in Casablanca and end in Agadir instead?
Yes — the route works in either direction. Tell us your preferred start city in the inquiry form and we will plan the logistics.
Is this tour good for pillions?
Riding with a passenger? Tell us when you enquire. Pillion arrangements depend on the motorcycle and the route, and we confirm what is possible for your itinerary before booking.
What is the road surface like — any off-road?
Almost entirely sealed roads: smooth coastal tarmac, harbour-town streets and paved foothill climbs. There is no technical off-road. We confirm the appropriate route, pace and any unpaved sections with you before booking.
Can I rent a motorcycle or bring my own?
Both. You can ride your own motorcycle, or motorcycle rental can be arranged through our local partners. Available motorcycles, availability and rental conditions are confirmed with you before booking — tell us your preference in the enquiry form.
What is included in the price?
What is included depends on the final arrangement. Elements such as guidance, a support vehicle, accommodation, airport transfers, route information and briefing, and luggage transport can be part of your tour, but availability and inclusion will be confirmed in your personalised quotation. Motorcycle rental, fuel, flights, insurance and personal spending are typically arranged separately — tell us your needs in the inquiry form.
Do you arrange travel and medical insurance?
We do not sell insurance, but we strongly recommend a policy that covers motorcycle touring and medical evacuation. Arrange it with your provider before you travel.
How do payments and cancellations work?
We confirm availability, price and deposit terms with you by email after your inquiry. Nothing is charged until we agree the details — never send payment through this website.
Can the tour be customised?
Yes. Dates, start city, pace and stops can all be adjusted, and we can build a fully private version for your group or club. Send the inquiry form and we will propose a route.
