A verified three-day Merzouga route
A three-day Merzouga enduro programme can link Erg Chebbi, M’Fis, Taouz and remote desert areas east and south of the dunes. The route below is an established programme that can be adjusted to the group and current conditions.
Because this is desert riding, daily kilometres are not presented as a fixed promise. Six hours of mixed sand and technical piste can be more demanding than a much longer road stage.
3-day Merzouga KTM enduro itinerary
The local partner publishes several three-day Merzouga programmes. The route below combines the recurring landmarks and riding corridors used in those programmes: Erg Chebbi, Khamlia, Taouz, Jdaid, Ouzina, Ramlia and Tafraout Sidi Ali. The final sequence is confirmed for your dates.
Day 1 — Erg Chebbi, Khamlia, Begaa & desert oases
Leave Merzouga for a first day of dune edges, hamada and desert piste. Depending on the chosen loop, stops can include Khamlia, Begaa, Saf-Saf, Tisrdamen/Tesradmin and the old M’Fis mining area before the overnight.
Day 2 — Taouz → Jdaid → Ouzina → Ramlia → Tafraout Sidi Ali
Ride deeper into the southeast desert through Taouz and its rock engravings, Jdaid, the Ouzina desert and Ramlia. The route uses remote piste and sections locally associated with the old Paris-Dakar rally corridor before reaching the night stop.
Day 3 — remote pistes → Oubahlou / M’harech corridor → Merzouga
The final day links remote hamada, dry riverbeds and desert tracks back towards Merzouga. Depending on the confirmed variant, the programme can pass the Oubahlou/M’harech area, Ouzina or Rissani before returning to Erg Chebbi.
The partner advertises several hours of riding per day on its multi-day programmes. Exact kilometres are deliberately not presented as a fixed promise because sand, piste condition and route variants can change the distance substantially.
Old Paris-Dakar tracks near Merzouga
Longer Merzouga programmes can reach old rally pistes in the Taouz–Ouzina–Ramlia corridor that are associated locally with the Paris-Dakar era. These sections add fast compacted piste, open hamada, dry riverbeds and rocky desert to the sand around Erg Chebbi.

Rider requirements and practical notes
- A valid full motorcycle licence is required for the KTM enduro programmes operated through our partner network.
- Tell us honestly about your off-road and sand experience so we can confirm the programme is suitable.
- Multi-day desert enduro is not designed as a first-ever off-road experience; basic off-road confidence is strongly recommended.
- Bring personal travel/medical insurance that covers motorcycle riding and emergency repatriation.
- Routes can change with heat, wind, sand, rain, track condition and the riding level of the group.

For Merzouga-based enduro programmes, we normally use a riad or hotel as the riding base. A desert-camp night can be included when it fits the confirmed itinerary.

What riding level is recommended?
Basic off-road experience is recommended. Riders should be comfortable on dirt, loose stones and some sand; a complete beginner should not book a multi-day enduro programme without first discussing suitability.
How long do we ride each day?
The partner publishes approximately 6–7 hours of riding per day for this three-day programme, excluding meal and photo stops.
Are meals and support included?
The partner programme includes guide, fuel, accommodation during the raid, meals, assistance vehicle, safety equipment and mechanical help. Your final quote confirms the exact package for your dates.
Do we ride Dakar tracks?
Some partner routes in this southeast desert use old rally/Dakar-era piste sections. We do not claim an official Dakar product, and any exact historic section is confirmed only when it is part of the booked route.
