Marrakech is a practical starting point for many motorcycle itineraries, with a major airport, a wide choice of accommodation and direct road access toward the High Atlas. As a riding city it is chaotic — scooters everywhere, few observed lane markings and a medina that is not designed for a loaded adventure bike — but you spend very little time in it.
Menara airport sits just a few kilometres from the city, which makes arrival day short. If motorcycle rental is part of the confirmed trip, the first evening can include the bike handover, equipment checks and a briefing; otherwise it is simply time to settle in and prepare before leaving the city the following day.
Marrakech traffic is dense and improvisational. Scooters filter from every direction, priority is negotiated rather than signalled, and the ring road is faster but busier. At low speed and with close attention this is manageable, but it is not the part of the trip anyone remembers fondly, and we route around the medina wherever possible.
Marrakech's real value to a rider is what is next to it. The Tizi n'Tichka begins climbing within an hour of leaving the city; the Ourika and Ouirgane valleys are closer still and make an easy half-day loop if you have a spare afternoon before or after a tour.
Jemaa el-Fnaa, the souks, the Majorelle garden and the Menara are all genuinely worth a day if your flights leave one spare. It is a good place to end a trip rather than start one — after a week in the desert the noise makes more sense.
One night either side of a tour is normal. Two nights at the end gives you a proper day in the city without cutting into riding time.
Autumn to spring is most pleasant. High summer is very hot in the city, which is another argument for leaving early and climbing into the Atlas.
Marrakech→Marrakech
A compact but varied loop from Marrakech across the High Atlas to the Sahara and back. Ride the Tizi n'Tichka pass, the kasbah valleys, Dades and Todra gorges, desert pistes around Erg Chebbi and the palm-lined Draa Valley, combining mountains, desert and culture in one week.
Marrakech→Marrakech
An eight-day Marrakech loop with a slower approach to the Sahara and more time in Morocco's southern valleys. Ride through the Ounila Valley, Dades and Todra gorges, spend two nights around Erg Chebbi, then return through the Draa Valley, Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou. The pace leaves room for photographs, short walks and desert exploration.
Casablanca→Marrakech
A sweeping north-to-south motorcycle journey from Casablanca to Marrakech through Fes, the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, the Ziz Valley and the Sahara. After a full desert day at Erg Chebbi, ride west through Todra and Dades, Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou before crossing the High Atlas. The final route, pace and riding level are confirmed with you before booking.
Casablanca→Casablanca
Our 12-day loop combines the Atlantic coast, the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas ranges, the kasbah valleys, remote southern pistes and the dunes of Erg Chebbi before returning to Casablanca. With nights in Essaouira, Marrakech, the Sahara and the Draa region, it combines a wide range of landscapes and riding conditions in one itinerary.
Agadir→Casablanca
A relaxed eight-day ride from Agadir to Casablanca along Morocco's Atlantic shore — empty coastal sweepers, the harbours of Essaouira and El Jadida, the Oualidia oyster lagoon — then a taste of the Atlas foothills before Casablanca. A scenic ocean-to-city route, and it runs in either direction.
